Show Luo Pays Low-Key Visit To Alien Huang’s Wake; Posts About Having “A Lot To Say” To Him
The former co-hosts reportedly fell out years ago.
It looks like death has a bittersweet way of mending strained relationships. Five years ago, Taiwanese stars and former BFFs Show Luo and Alien Huang were rumoured to have fallen out after Alien allegedly insulted Show’s supporters. This purportedly drove a wedge between them, and Alien quit 100% Entertainment, the variety show they hosted together for years.
Then, in June, Alien seemingly tried to distance himself from Show after the latter’s philandering ways were exposed by his ex-girlfriend, Chinese blogger Grace Chow, with Alien claiming that he doesn’t even have Show’s phone number.
Well, the deterioration of their friendship certainly did nothing to soften the blow when Show found out that Alien had passed away at the age of 36 on September 16. He took to his Instagram Stories to write a simple but sorrowful “How could this be?” in response to the heartbreaking news, and recent reports claim that he made a very low-key trip to Alien’s wake at close to 10pm last Saturday (Sep 19). We’re actually surprised that he managed to avoid getting photographed by the media or any bystanders when he was there.
The 41-year-old also shared a photo of the exterior of the memorial hall in the wee hours of Sunday morning (Sep 20), writing, “I have come to see you, and I had a lot to say to you. I hope you could hear me. Rest in peace.”
While we can’t help but be curious about what exactly it is Show had to say to Alien, we believe it’s something the public will never know.
In other related news, pictures and videos of Show supposedly making his way to the wake went viral on the internet (see below). However, it was pointed out that those were actually taken at the funeral of Taiwanese music producer Isaac Chen’s mother two years ago.
Netizens were understandably livid at the fake news and slammed the accounts that circulated the photos for being disrespectful and taking advantage of the situation to stir up news.
According to Apple Daily, Show and Alien started drifting apart some time around 2010. However, a close friend of Show’s revealed that it all began in 2007, when Show overheard Alien talking to a mutual friend in the restroom. The friend exclaimed, “Show has so many fans!”, to which Alien retorted, “But his fans are all so unrefined”, a comment that did not sit well with Show.
When Alien announced he was leaving 100% Entertainment to focus on his music and acting career in 2015, he was asked if his departure had anything to do with him feeling awkward around Show. While he denied it (“I didn’t do anything, why should I feel awkward?”), the two eventually lost touch. Sadly, their last 'conversation' would be at Alien's wake.
