A beautiful actress with a beautiful heart.

Lin Chiling is beautiful inside and out.

Not only has the 44-year-old star supported (and made silent donations) to various causes over the years, she also has her own charity — Chiling Charity Foundation — which raises funds for children in need.

Just yesterday (Dec 8), Chiling, who married 38-year-old Japanese popstar Akira last month, held her annual 'Sister Chiling and Good Friends Charity Sale'. She promised donors who spend NT$2,000 (S$90) that they’ll receive the candy she had given to her wedding guests as door gifts, while those who spend NT$10,000 (S$450) or more will get a ferris wheel music box.

The model-actress also recently released her new calendar for 2020 and sales proceeds would go to her charity. The theme for the calendar? 'Love', which isn't all that surprising since she got married just last month. Also, the pronunciation of '20' in Chinese kinda sounds like 'love you'.

And love is what Chiling is all about now. She recently gave an interview where she said that her career isn't the most important thing to her anymore. “Right now, I would like to focus on my life which includes my family and my charity foundation, and if I do it well, I'll have no regrets! And if the spotlight [on me] is turned off now and that it's time for me to exit the stage, I'll be filled with gratitude for everything and I'll take a bow,” she said.

If that's not an announcement to pre-empt her fans about her imminent retirement, we don't know what is.
